Camping is one of those things that everybody should experience at least once. Learning how to make a bonfire, cook camp food, build a tent or sleep in the open air helps to foster the feeling of family within the group. Many of the best camping memories revolve, of course, around the campfire and the spontaneous songs, dancing and games it has produced. Trips have ranged from short trips adjacent to the Short Course location, to many kilometres from home such as the trip on the 1999 Lithuanian Short Course to Nida, on the Baltic Sea, which involved an overnight stay at a former Soviet Military Site. Camping as an activity has been found to be both challenging and worthwhile, indeed for many it represents a completely new experience.
"Sitting around the campfire singing songs and telling stories from our home land was like a fairy tale, it had a real old world charm about it and is one of the many warm memories I have from the Short Course" Lazar Divjak, Belgrade |
